Since OnePlus is known for producing high-quality phones that can compete with more expensive flagships, it’s not surprising that the $159 OnePlus Watch is less priced than both the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. The OnePlus Watch, however, has a very first-generation feel, unlike the original OnePlus phone. It boasts a gorgeous and responsive colour touch screen in terms of design, but its bulky, all-black appearance restricts its appeal. The watch can monitor your blood oxygen saturation and stress, but in tests, its built-in GPS didn’t reliably track distance during bike rides and runs.
The watch includes inbuilt music storage and Bluetooth calling capabilities, but it does not allow voice assistants or mobile payments. What you see is what you get in the absence of third-party programs that can be downloaded. The most feature-rich Android-compatible smartwatch in this price range, the $229.95 Fitbit Versa 3, is what we advise as a more dependable and comprehensive substitute.
A Big Statement
In the US, the OnePlus Watch is only offered in one size (46.4mm) and one colour (midnight black). It has a distinctly macho appearance thanks to its stainless steel case and black strap.
The OnePlus Watch is simply too large for my wrist, as I elaborated on when I first got my hands on it. It’s one of the biggest smartwatches I’ve tried, with a 46.4mm case. To put things in perspective, the largest watch in the Apple lineup has a 44mm casing. The Garmin Lily, which features a 34mm case and a fashionable, feminine appearance, is currently my favourite wearable.
To appeal to a wide range of users, certain smartwatch manufacturers, including Apple and Garmin, provide small and big editions of their products with a variety of case and strap colours and materials. The only other watch model OnePlus has disclosed is a Cobalt Limited Edition edition, which lacks a US release and has a glass face and a more robust shell.
The OnePlus Watch is quite appealing if it fits your wrist, even though it is not really my style. Its simple style will go well from the office to the gym to a night out.
Bright, lovely, and incredibly snappy, the watch’s 1.39-inch, 454 by 454 pixel AMOLED display. A 2.5D curved glass face with a series of undetectable rings around the bezel, which OnePlus accurately refers to as a “CD design,” adds to its appeal.
In terms of weight and thickness, the OnePlus Watch weighs 1.5 ounces without its fluoroelastomer (synthetic rubber) band and measures less than half an inch thick (0.43 inches). It is safe to swim with because it has a 5ATM water resistance certification. I’ve worn it multiple times to bed and in the shower without incident; overall, it feels safe, cosy, and relatively light on my wrist.
The watch is compatible with regular 22mm quick-release straps, so you can personalize it in that way even if OnePlus doesn’t plan to sell extra bands. On the two smallest settings, the provided strap, which fits my relatively little wrist, is snug enough for me. If the supplied strap is too large for your wrist, OnePlus advises getting in touch with its customer support department.
We heartily recommend the Fitbit Versa 3 as the best budget fitness tracker or smartwatch if you’re shopping for one. For $229.95, it offers a sizable colour touch screen that is constantly on, downloadable apps, robust fitness and sleeps tracking features, support for Amazon Alexa, and Fitbit Pay mobile payment functionality. If you’re prepared to pay at least $400, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch3 are both great options, however, iPhone users can also choose the more cost Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 3. Although the OnePlus Watch is a promising beginning, there is still much opportunity for development.
Thank You !!
