The Chromebook market is getting increasingly saturated with devices at varying price points. ASUS is one of the leading players, with notebooks starting from $149. But it also wants to cover the higher end of this market, and that’s why we get the new Chromebook Flip. A previous slip-up told us a lot about the device, but now it is officially unveiled.
The Chromebook Flip comes with a 12.5” Full HD multi-touch display that rotates 360 degrees, and you can use it as a giant tablet if that’s your thing. The CPU comes in two options – Intel’s m3 or m7. The RAM is 4GB/8GB, and the internal storage comes in 32/64/128 GB.
The Chromebook Flip is only 13.7mm thick and weighs less than 1.2 kilograms. The 360-degree hinge enables you to utilize it in Stand Mode, Tablet Mode, Laptop Mode, and Tent Mode. ASUS claims that the 39 Wh battery will last up to 10 hours.
A MicroSD slot and two USB Type-C 3.1 ports are provided. The cheapest model of the new Chromebook Flip, equipped with an m3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, costs $499.
